Animal Behavior is a wonderful field of inquiry - it appeals to the imagination and the child in us all.

In this class we emphasize Tinbergen's Four Questions as a framework for understanding both behavior and inquiry in general. Natural selection, sexual selection, and kin selection are overarching concepts. We learn proximate (mechanistic) and ultimate (evolutionary) bases for behavior across the entire animal phylum.
