General Biology: Cellular and Molecular

In person + Live online

This course has been taught in-person and as a live online (Zoom) course, to classes between 40 and 300 students.

General Biology is the first of a two semester sequence that is required of majors in Biology. Students range from pre-med to wildlife science, computer science to business.

The course focuses on a rigorous understanding of biological concepts and principles. Topics include a thorough understanding of cellular and molecular biological principles- including the major chemical reactions that drive living forms. Genetics, from individual to population, are explored as a basis for understanding microevolution. We explore the origins of life, and the application of biotech to modern life.
